Comcast Renews 135,000 SF Lease with Piedmont Office Realty Trust

ATLANTA and CHICAGO, January 13, 2009 – Piedmont Office Realty Trust, Inc. today announced that Comcast Corporation has renewed its 135,000-square-foot lease at Windy Point I located at 1500 McConnor Parkway in Schaumburg, IL. Comcast, the nation's leading provider of entertainment, information and communication products and services, has held tenancy in the building for almost 10 years.
The tenant was represented by the team of Dave Berry, Fred Schuler, John Musgjerd and Sean Reynolds of Jones Lang LaSalle. Piedmont Office Realty Trust, owner of the property, was represented by Rob Lundin, also from Jones Lang LaSalle, and Joel Williamson of Piedmont.
“Cost optimization was the most important criteria in Comcast’s real estate decision,” said Mr. Berry. “We scoured the Northwest marketplace for the right combination of location and price. When we weighed all of our options, staying at Windy Point I provided the most cost effective and ideal location for the company. We were able to come to terms that worked well for both Comcast and Piedmont. It was a win-win situation.”
